Supplemental Table 2. Pairwise comparisons of apteronotid species sampled. Comparisons across species were completed based on the Procrustes ANOVAs to compare shape to size, species, and genus. This post hoc test determined which species were significantly different from one another statistically. Of the 78 pairs of genera tested, 33 were significantly different.

Supplemental Table 3. The results from the morphol.disparity analysis completed in geomorph. This analysis tested the relative amounts of morphological disparity for each genus, in terms of Procrustes distances between the genus means, along with pairwise comparisons across genera. There were several species that were significantly different from one another in terms of morphological disparity.
